So this weeks activity wasn't very educational but it is something I've wanted to do for months now. Pre-BK I always put my make-up in the bathroom, but when she started crawling and walking around she became very interested in whatever I was doing. We have a huge mirror in our bedroom so I would just sit in the floor in front of it to do my makeup. She would always sit so still in my lap and watch my every move.
She is so infatuated by the process. She wants to give me my makeup and pretend to use the brushes on her face. She'll hand me the mascara or eyeliner and say "eyes?" Now, this isn't Toddlers and Tiaras so I needed a way for her to feel like she was doing the same thing as me, without all the mess.
I know I saw a pin about this months back but I can't seem to locate it now and the one I could find didn't link to a specific blog. Basically, I just bought some cheap makeup at Target, I spent $11 on several different things and a few brushes.
I just popped the metal inserts out. I used a knife and once I got under the edge they came right out. Then I filled each spot with nail polish.
I let it dry overnight and voila, mess free makeup.
This was a hit for BK she loves and she keeps talking about "my makeup," as she calls it. Even though, she thinks I should be wearing hers now.
Such a fun and easy project. I was surprised at how long she played with this last night.
