My Best Kept Beauty Secret? Revlon’s BB Cream

Sometime last year, I was introduced to a fabulous product, BB cream. It seriously changed my beauty regimen for the better. Recently, BlogHer introduced me to Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream™ Skin Perfector. I quickly learned that this product would take up permanent residence in my makeup bag. I absolutely love to find great drug-store brands. photo 2

Let’s talk for a minute about BB creams and why they should be a part of your makeup routine. Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream Skin Perfector is truly an all-in-one makeup product. I use it as my first step when applying makeup, as it gives me the hydration of a moisturizer with the protection of an SPF 30 sunscreen, while the smooth and even coverage blurs blemishes and spots like a concealer. During the summer, I spend my days running errands and chasing a toddler in the park, the temperatures consistently hover in the 90’s and the humidity takes the heat to a whole other level. It’s nice to apply Revlon PhotoReady BB cream and still look put together.

Of course, if I’m going out or have someplace special to be, my makeup routine changes. I still use the BB cream first–it takes the place of primer, moisturizer and concealer. I’m amazed at the base it gives my mineral powder foundation. Unlike some of the other BB creams, PhotoReady BB Cream™ Skin Perfector comes in 4 shades. That means the BB cream comes in enough shades to find one that is perfect for you without having to overanalyze or test out a ton of different shades. I apply mine with a cosmetic sponge and feel like the coverage is better and more even than applying it with my hands.

I also love the long lasting coverage it provides. I can easily apply this in the morning and still see the benefits of coverage in the afternoon. Even with the heat and humidity, it does a great job. I found that it hydrated my face instead of drying it out and I think that added to the length of time it stayed on. Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream Skin Perfector is my new go-to in the BB cream department. And at a price point you’ll love, I think it might become your new favorite, too.

If you see me working out at the Barre early in the morning, this is my secret. I like my skin to look effortlessly flawless and covered, so I apply this before I leave the house.

Urban Decay primer (can’t think of the exact name) is my secret weapon, but it’s pricey. I’ll be looking for the PhotoReady BB cream tomorrow! Thanks for the heads up!

Well I would say my best secret was my BB cream of a different brand, but I would LOVE to try the Revlon brand BB cream. I love that it has the SPF!

Blinc mascara! It never smudges. It coats the lashes with tiny tubes of color. Comes off easily with warm water.

My beauty secret would have to be my Spa Sonic Skin Care System. I just purchased it a few months ago but my face has never been so smooth and my makeup covers so much better. I use it daily and I’ve seen soooo much improvement!

  6. Jenna says

I have never used this BB cream, it will be the next one I buy though. I love that you can find it at drug stores at a reasonable price.

I don’t wear a ton of makeup on a day-to-day basis. My best secret (maybe not really a secret) is SPF in any face lotion I buy, that’s always a must and then if I’m going to run errands during the day or don’t have anything major going on – I believe a girl can usually pull it together if she has a wand of mascara and a tube of lipstick or gloss. It detracts from other things.

My beauty secret is Retin A (acne prescription), but I use it to prevent wrinkles now that I’m 30. My dermatologist says is exfoliates skin to keep it smooth and wrinkle free.

My best kept beauty secret: don’t stress. Stress is so hard on skin and can prematurely age you. Hard for any makeup to look good, if your face looks stressed.

My secret is… I steal ideas from my daughters! I tend to get stuck in the rut of doing what I’m familiar with, so I look to my daughters and “borrow” from their ideas and styles to update and have fun with my own :)
