These past few weeks have been incredibly busy for our little family. Allen has worked a ton of late nights, and I feel like we’re running from place to place each evening. I have about 10 people left to buy Christmas for and I’d be a little overwhelmed if I wasn’t quite so busy. I make promises to myself that it won’t be like this next year, I’ll somehow manage to be more on top of it, and I’m really hoping that’s the case. But, for now we’re living right in the middle of a crazy-busy season.
I’m looking forward to Christmas break, and Allen even took a break for himself, we have big plans for the fourth bedroom upstairs.
All that to say, I have a ton to catch up on, so let’s get started.
We hosted Thanksgiving at our house for the second year in a row. I’m not lying when I tell you I hope it stays like this forever. It’s so nice to have everyone ever and not feel rushed on the holidays. My favorite holiday to be exact. Allen went out to get all of the leaves up early that morning, he ended up making a huge leaf pile for BK. I never imagined she would be so excited over leaves.
Poor Coco really didn’t want to play in the leaves, but she didn’t get much of a choice.
I mentioned earlier that Allen has had a few late nights, so after dance on Thursday I headed to Panera with this sweet thing. And can we talk about their Creamy Tomato Soup? Oh my goodness, I’ve thought about that stuff every day since I tried it, I’d blame it on the pregnancy, but I’m always a little crazy about food.
Our neighbors invited us to see Frozen on Saturday morning. It was such a cute movie. Allen actually took Braylen earlier in the week, but I really wanted to see it too. She kept telling me what would happen next.
After the movie we headed home to get ready for Leah’s wedding. Braylen was a flower girl again and I think she might become a pro at this flower girl thing. She posed for the pictures and walked down the aisle just like she was instructed. She especially loved the flowers in her hair, she kept saying, I’ve never had a flower princess crown.
The reception is always her favorite part and she stays on the dance floor the whole time. This girl never meets a stranger and dances with anyone around her, or by herself, doesn’t matter to her. I promise this huge, outgoing personality doesn’t come from either of her parents. I’d prefer to stand back and watch, but she always finds herself in the center of all the attention, and there she thrives.
On Sunday, we had Christmas with Allen’s family. To fit everything in, we have to start the festivities a little early.
I stopped by a local store to pick up a few things on the way out and guess who we ran into? The man in the red suit, himself! It was a nice way to get the obligatory Santa photo out of the way this year. Done and done.
We did a little more shopping before we realized it would be best to do it without a toddler in tow. So we called it a night and let BK choose a place for dinner. I’ll bet you can’t guess what she chose?
I hope your holiday season is off to a great start!

I am right there with you on the busy season and just wanting it to slow down just a little bit and I am loving the nice break we get. Panera is one of my all time favorite restaurants and I secretly hope one day we get one here.
