Every Day Cheer-
You can find a real post from me over on Every Day Cheer today. I’m giving the Date Night Jar a yearly update, just in time for Valentine’s Day. There’s been a lot of talk about Valentine’s Day on Every Day Cheer, so head over and find tons of great Date Night and gift ideas.
Weekend Fun:
On Friday evening, I went to Pure Barre for what I thought would be my 100th class, turns out it was more like 101, but who’s counting anyway? I’ll be honest with you, it’s way tougher on me now that I’m pregnant. I thought I would just continue on and it would be fine, but each time gets a little tougher. No doubt, I always feel better when I leave, but while I’m there, not so much.
For dinner on Friday night, our neighbors came over and Allen grilled hamburgers, it was a nice 100th class treat.
On Saturday morning, we headed to a birthday party for one of Braylen’s friends from school. At her favorite place, Chuck-E-Cheese’s. I let her sign the card on the way to the party. She can never decide if she wants to write in all caps or a combination of both, but it’s not too shabby for her to have written it while we were driving down the road.
I drug Allen along for the party and I’m not sure which of two is the bigger kid.
Saturday evening, Matt and Jenn and their kiddos’s came to play. BK had the best time, we couldn’t get all four to stand still for a photo, so here’s the best I could do, minus one twin.
Sunday was way more low key with a trip to church, grocery shopping and a little meal prep for the week. Braylen has the sweetest heart, after we took this picture she said, “Mom, now you can always have that picture of me.”
New Recipes:
One of my just for fun goals for the new year is to try one new recipe each week. We’ve tried several new recipes, all of which have been a hit, so I wanted to share them with you. You can follow along with my Pinterest board to see what I plan on cooking in the coming weeks.
from The Dough Will Rise Again. This was seriously delicious. I had the leftovers for several days and it only got better.
Blackened Mahi: This recipe was delicious. I prepared it as the recipe stated and finished it off in the oven in an iron skillet.
Proscuitto Wrapped Asparagus: I still want this as a side for just about every dish I prepare.
Greek Chicken Nachos: A quick and easy favorite from eMeals.
I have two new recipes on the menu this week, I’ll let you know how they taste.
