Want to know where I was a little hopeless? The playroom. More specifically, all of the toys that I always seemed to be gathering up at the end of the day to stash away in the playroom. I wish I could tell you the number of hours I've spent arranging and rearranging the playroom, picking up all of the toys and putting them back into their space, over and over and over again. surviving to thriving: clothes filing
Let's talk about one of my favorite things since revamping how we deal with our clothes. We revamped the closet and made it useful, and then I showed you how in my more shallow drawers, I'm able to roll the shirts, allowing me to see each piece of clothing. However, a few of our drawers are pretty deep and the only real way I've ever been able to fit everything in those drawers is to fold and stack. After reading the book and implementing the KonMari method, I decided that it would be okay to have a drawer or two full that I stacked the clothes in, but it didn't take long for those to get right back in a messy state, or for me to rely on the same tops over and over. surviving to thriving: BK’s space + capsule wardrobe
Much like Judson's room, the only real issue with clutter was clothing and shoes in BK's room. Her room also has an attic space in the closet, which makes it extremely convenient to store things. We went through about 20 tubs of childrens clothing while tackling BK's room. I did save some of her things to have a quilt made from, but we got rid of an overwhelming majority. One of my favorite things about BK is her love for treasures. Seashells and rocks, charms and flattened pennies. She doesn't have an abundance of these things, and I know to most it looks like a pile of junk, but she loves them so.
