About

IMG_2268Welcome to Life In The Green House. Maybe you’re a close friend of ours, maybe you stumbled across our blog from a link-up or maybe (most likely) Pinterest brought you here. However, you found my little piece of the internet, Welcome!

I am a Believer, a wife, a mother to a spunky toddler, a kindergarten teacher and incurably southern. You never know what you’ll find around here. I post recipes, write about things that are close to my heart, exercise my creativity through DIY projects, fail at diets on regular basis, and look for any excuse to throw a party and give you the details.

About the Green’s

Allen and I were married in September of 2005. We spent a wonderful four and a half years together before welcoming our sweet baby girl in April of 2010.  Braylen Kate has taken our world by storm and completely captured our hearts. We love her with a deeper love than we ever thought possible.

Together we share a love for Jesus, spontaneous vacations, the lake, good food and movies. But in many ways we couldn’t be more different. Allen lives for any new project he can tackle, and he’d rather be outside. I live for a good pair of shoes and my idea of spending the day outdoors is walking from store to store at an outdoor mall. An exaggeration? Maybe a little, but it’s possible you may never find me pitching a tent in the great outdoors. I’m a self-professed multi-tasker extraordinar, I could talk for days, and my hair color is a shade (or 10) lighter than intended.
This blog was born out of a desire to chronicle our lives once Braylen arrived. We remember the big things. Our wedding, great vacations, finding out about our pregnancy, welcoming Braylen, watching her roll over, smile and so on… But it isn’t just the big things that make life great, and this blog is our attempt at capturing it all. From lazy Saturdays at home to life-changing events and everything in between. This is our attempt at squeezing everything thing we can out of every single day. Feel free to follow along, actually just go ahead and follow along, I’d really like it if you did.
