I am a complete nerd when it comes to organization. It just feels so good to open a closet or a drawer and feast my eyes upon nice, neat rows of things. Color-coded, arranged by size, tucked away in labeled bins, is simply blissful. For a while, I think I was fixated on the idea of organization. Like it was somehow this unattainable concept reserved for the pages of Martha Stewart Living. I had to take organization down a notch, pull it off of it's pedestal, rather than just pinning images without any follow through. Braylen accompanied me on my weekly grocery trip last Sunday. This particular day she was in an extremely loving mood. Before we left the house she sat in my lap at the desk while I wrote out the grocery list, her arms wrapped around mine, her eyes were fixed on my every move. Don't forget to add my apples, mama. And my 'nola bars, too. I planned to leave her home with Allen while I shopped, that's what she generally prefers, but not this time. A peek inside Braylen’s lunch box
When Braylen started school this past August, I was immediately excited to start making cute little lunches to send with her each morning. Toddler lunch can be tricky, the appetite of a toddler changes constantly. Some days I feel like she doesn't eat enough to survive and others I feel like she eats enough for two. For Braylen, the key is variety. I could send her strawberries each day for a month and she might eat every single one. Then, she may not eat them the next time I send them.
