We packed April full of all the things we love. Like birthday parties and celebrating and family and friends and good food. We’re sad to see it go, but ready for May and summer and all the things in store for us. I’m linking up with Shay, Shaffer and Mel for What’s Up Wednesday. You can join too! Each last Wednesday of the month.
What we’re eating this week
We haven’t been the most fantastic about eating at home lately and I’m over eating out. I ran to Sprouts Sunday night and bought all of the brussels sprouts and fresh veggies I could find! Can we talk about Sprouts for a moment, it’s probably my favorite ever. I know I’ll only be saying that until the fall when Trader Joe’s comes. I sort of love grocery stores, Allen’s been known to say, Seriously, Jenn, no more grocery stores this week.
What Im reminiscing about
Tiny baby Jud. All of the pictures in my time hop are from this time last year, the first week of baby Jud. I don’t think there will ever be a time in my life when I don’t miss those sweet newborn days. Nothing better in the world.
What Im loving
Bible Journaling! It’s been a great wind down ritual at night and I’m loving all of the new pens and paint that fills my basket of journaling goods, I need to put together a post on this in the coming weeks. I have some things I think you’ll love.
What weve been up to
Tons of outside play, it’s been beautiful! Birthday parties have consumed this month, it feels good to have celebrated big, but to be on the other side of the celebrations. Other than that, dance class and church on repeat. Summer living is going to be easy.
What Im working on
I’m still doing contract work part-time from home and one day each week in the office. I can’t imagine anything more perfect for this season of our life. I’m also working on a tutorial for those balloon topiaries, I promise, and blogging more.
What Im watching
The Voice, Scandal, and Grey’s Anatomy. I knew the outcome of last weeks episode of Grey’s before I watched, so I kept myself busy with laundry and birthday party prep. Last week was way too busy for an ugly cry. I don’t know what to think about it anymore, I’ve continued watching because I’ve watched for so long that I feel like I need to see it through. Now, I’m not sure that applies anymore. And Scandal? I’ll love Olivia Pope for all the days. The Voice is sort of unique in its ability to get less interesting as the season goes on, rather than getting better. I feel like it starts off at its peak with the blind auditions.
What Im reading
Going Public by David and Kelli Pritchard. I’ve been having a bit of a conflict over where to send BK for school next year. It’s not really a public or private debate, rather a public or Montessori debate. If you’re on the fence about public school, you should definitely read this book. I plan on finishing it up while in Disney, but I think it has really helped ease my mind regarding our decision (for next year, at least).
What Im listening to
David Crowders, My Beloved and Come As You Are. Brayden constantly asked for Thinking Out Loud and Love Ran Red. I tend to find a few favorites and play them for days on end until I find something else I like better, then I wear it out. I usually drive my family crazy with the same songs over and over, so I try to tone it down when I’m around others. But, I’ll play three songs on repeat all day if I’m home alone.
What Im wearing
Can not get enough basic v-necks from J.Crew with shorts. Also, I’m wearing my old summer clothes. It’s like I have a whole new wardrobe.
What Im doing this weekend
Oh you know, just heading to the happiest place on earth. Finally, our Disney trip is here and I couldn’t be more excited. Well, maybe I could if I had actually packed one single thing, but I haven’t. I did clean up the party supplies. And that my friends, is progress.
What I’m looking forward to next month…
Besides Disney? Getting back into a normal routine and enjoying simple time at home.

I can’t wait and I am so excited about your post on Bible Journaling. When I was a teenager to my 30’s my parents had a lake house in Alabama south of Birmingham called Lay Lake. It was a beautiful lake and I have thought about so many times how great it would have been reading my Bible and Journaling on the screen porch and looking out at the lake. I started doing Bible Journaling later in life and I wish I had started doing it as a teenager or a pre teen. I did have my Bible just not a journal. I enjoy your blog and your beautiful family so much. Have a wonderful time in Disney……..Blessings…
