I remember writing a blog post around this time last year about a Bible study group. Most of the groups who meet in my area, meet during the day, and it just didn’t jive with my working schedule. We attend a very small church, so this isn’t a small group that we meet together with on a regular basis.
I’ve participated in group Bible study settings before, and I knew in my heart that it was something I wanted to be a part of once again. The difficult task was finding something that fit my needs and my schedule. After writing that post, emailed me about joining a Bible study group she was a part of with a great group of local girls. I jumped at the chance and it has been such a great part of my life for the past year. It’s amazing how God finds us right where we are to give us just what we need. This group has been such an answered prayer and I couldn’t be more thankful for each and every one of these girls.
Last Thursday evening, we packed up and headed to Gatlinburg for a few days of peace and quiet in the mountains. Leaving my sweet family behind is always tough for me, but I quickly realized this trip was just what I needed.
We spent Friday and Saturday exploring Gatlingburg, cheering on the Tide, and playing a never-ending game of Phase 10.
We perfected the group selfie, ate more junk food than should be allowed, and participated in tons of touristy fun.
We headed back home to our families on Sunday morning, my 28th birthday. It’s crazy to think about just how fast this year has gone by, so many wonderful changes in my life. I certainly don’t feel older. Unless you account for the fact that I have to use Google to figure things out, like what Bye, Felicia means. Let’s face it, I may still feel like my 20-year-old self, but this current version finds 10:00 PM bedtimes way more appealing than hitting the town, any day of the week.
It’s a sweet life I live, and I wouldn’t trade it for anyone else’s out there. My days seem to fly by, sometimes they’re chaotic and unruly, sometimes we stay in pj’s all day, but this sweet season is right where I want to be.
Even coming home to candles in a gingerbread house.

I laughed out loud at the “bye Felicia” part. Being an old-timer at 30 now, I would also usually have no idea. Except my sister’s name is Felicia and she is sooo over that saying. lol
I am extremely jealous of both the girls trip and the fact that you have found a Bible study that works with your schedule and family life. It is a struggle right now, and I am praying that one day the pieces fall together and it works out for me to find the same thing you are enjoying.
