This weekend we traveled to Nashville for a weekend getaway. I felt like it was much needed and Allen did all the work, booked the room and told me we were going. We stayed at the Gaylord Opryland hotel, and it was absolutely beautiful. I took some pictures but I’m not sure they really do it justice…
And huge! Close to 3,000 rooms, several restaurants, stores, coffee shops, beautiful gardens, pools and even an indoor boat ride. We will defintley be making more trips here in the future. Our room had a balcony and this is the view we had…
We walked around some of the gardens and Braylen was so happy! She really loved it.
We spent a good bit of time reading the maps (after we first aimlessly walked around, of course)…
I had big plans to go to the nearby Opry Mills but somehow missed the memo that it was closed due to flood restoration. Our waitress at dinner even said it may not re-open because of some insurance problems. They also told us they had 8 feet of water in the hotel during the flood and lost ALL plant life. The trees lived but all the plants were replaced. It’s hard for me to imagine everything being underwater. Mostly because I’ve never been privy to the aftermath of a flood, thankfully. When I looked up pictures I couldn’t believe that just 6 short months ago, this…
Looked like this…
On Saturday evening we ate dinner at a Mexican restaurant inside the hotel called Solara. Oh. My. Goodness. It was so good. First, they impressed me by making guacamole at our table. And my husband who despises it? Loved it. And I got to say hold the onions!! Which officially made it the best thing I’ve ever had.
We had tickets to a family Valentine “party.” Braylen loved and danced to the music, but we didn’t stay too long she wanted to crawl to the center of the dance floor with all of the other kids. We did let her dance beside our table…
We took our picture and headed out…
Sunday we didn’t have to check out until 1:00 so when it was nap time we drove around. She sleeps best in the car and we wanted to get a good nap in before we attempted to do anything else. When we came back we went on the Delta Boat Ride. Braylen loved this and just looked around the whole time.
We headed home, but not before we stopped by Gigi’s and picked up some delicious cupcakes, ’cause you know everything is calorie free on vacation.
And one of my favorite pictures from the weekend. Clearly, we were both happy about our trip…
