Braylen had her 12 month check-up last Tuesday! I’m just a little late blogging about it. I was excited to find out her stats and convinced she hadn’t broke the 20 pound mark yet. And you know its true, mama knows best ๐ Our tiny girl just weighed 19 pounds and 8 ounces and 30 and three-quarters inches long! That puts her in about the 25th percentile for weight and somewhere between the 90th and 95th percentile for height. Her head circumference was 18 and a quarter. Long and skinny! Her build is just like her daddys when he was little. And her doctor was SO pleased with both her weight and height!
She was so good at the appointment! I mean she did a great job of keeping herself occupied by playing peek-a-boo with the paper. Or her own version in which we say, “Where’s Braylen” and she says “right there.” Yes, I am completely serious.
And she’s been “loving” her baby dolls and stuffed animals for a while now BUT guess what? She’s started giving us kisses and hugs all the time. Such a sweet girl!!
But then she had to have shots!! She didn’t like those at all!! We talked with doctor about her eating, sleeping and development in general. She’s turned into quite the sleeper lately and we are all pleased. BUT we were still giving her bottles and we had stocked up on formula so we were finishing it off (it lasted until the morning of the appointment). So after the appointment we said “bye-bye” to the bottle (but that’s a story for another day).
Oh, and can you believe that aside from that scary bout reparatory infection at just a few days old she’s only been to the doctor for her well-baby check-ups!! So thankful for a year free of flus and ear infections and hoping for our second year to be just as healthy!
She even showed off her clapping skills and said “Yay!!” several times while he was talking to her… what a personality this one has! She keeps us smiling…

That is awesome that she’s only been for well baby checkups! We’ve had to go constantly for ear infections and just found yesterday it looks like tubes are in Brayden’s future. Also, I’m excited to read about her giving up the bottle because I need some pointers! ๐
