Last Thursday we left for a short trip to Gatlinburg with my mom and grandmother. We met up with Debbie and her mother and aunt for a girls trip to the mountains. Don’t worry about Allen he was well taken care of and spent the weekend at the lake house with the guys.
It was the perfect time to be in the mountains. The leaves were changing, the temperature was perfect and the fall decor was out in full force. Corn stalks, pumpkins, gourds, and scarecrows were on every corner and outside of every door. We ate at the Alamo the first night and B wanted nothing to do with having her picture taken with me. Notice this a trend that will continue throughout the trip.
She was such a trooper on the ride up. We usually travel early in the morning or late at night to let her sleep but this time we left around 7:00 and she didn’t cry once the entire way. We kept her occupied with the iPad for the last 30 minutes of the trip. She was tired though and showed it at dinner…
The next day we went downtown and did a little shopping.
More evidence she wanted nothing to do with a picture…
We used some of the scenery for a little fall photo shoot. She picked out this bear in one of the shops and wouldn’t put it down.
When it was time for her nap we decided to drive around a little and let her sleep while we admired the beautiful mountains and the fall leaves. This is just a shot on manual settings, it was seriously gorgeous.
It ended up being pretty windy and the leaves were falling like crazy…
We even spotted this guy…
I used some of the pictures yesterday in her 18 month post, but here are a few others I just couldn’t resist sharing…
On Saturday night we went to the Dixie Stampede for dinner. Braylen is not one to sit still, ever. I wasn’t sure how it would go since the show is nearly two hours but she LOVED it. She was so amazed by the horses and animals she kept her eyes on the show the entire time and never hardly moved.
Here she is during the pre-show.
She wouldn’t pose with me but she had no problem posing on her own…
I absolutely love taking her new places both near and fear. She is always amazed and its so fun to see the places I’ve been to many, many times through her eyes.

Love that picture of you two walking side by side. Precious ๐ And E has gotten to the point now where she won’t pose for pictures with me either. I thought we had a few more years before that started! ๐

Great pictures. So jealous that you saw a bear! I’m only about a hour from Gatlinburg and have visited there all my life–never saw a wild bear.
