Today I have a fun review and an amazing product to give away from Oreck.
About a month ago the nice people at Oreck sent me a Oreck AirInstinct™ 200 air purifier to try in my home. Now, I need to be honest here and say I’ve always thought we didn’t really need a fancy air purifier. I keep the house clean and neat so the air must be a reflection, right? Wrong. The first time I looked at the filter after we had been using it for about a week I was shocked. Dust, dirt, and pet hair all stuck in the filter and those are just things you can see. I shudder to think about the micro-particles that the rest of the filtration system caught.
But if I’m really being honest then I should tell you that I knew before we took a look at that filter that the Oreck AirInstinct™ 200 air purifier was really making a difference. I could notice a difference in the air almost immediately. It actually felt cleaner.
My other misconception that was quickly put to the rest by the Oreck AirInstinct™ 200 air purifier was that to really be doing it’s job it would have to be obnoxiously loud. That wasn’t the case at all, actually the Oreck AirInstinct™ 200 air purifier comes with a silent mode or white noise, if you prefer. The white noise is perfect for BK’s room because it helps her sleep better.

The mood light indicates the amount of work the Oreck AirInstinct™ 200 air purifier is having to do. The mood light can be turned off but I like to see when the machine is having to work the hardest and then figure out what might be causing the increased allergens in the air.

One thing I learned was that it continuously checks particles in the air passing through its sensor and adjusts its air flow speed accordingly. Thats pretty interesting.

I learned the air instinct 200 captures 99.97% of dust, allergens, smoke, pet dander and pollen. I would love this – we just moved into a new house with our 6 month old baby boy. I think our air is “clean” but now I’m second guessing how clean it actually is!

What I learned: During Stage 1 the pre-filter captures large particle matter like hair and pet fur. This filter can be washed with water and never needs to be replaced.
I love that this filter never needs to be replaced.
I subscribe to this blog. I really like that the Oreck Air has a sleep and a separate power-saving mode. We like to live green as much as possible and this would help big time.
