It’s Saturday and Allen’s helping his grandparents fix their porch, BK and I are about to head out to play with side walk chalk. Actually, I have a Southern Living and two Cooking Light’s to read so I’ll probably do some reading while she plays.
I hope you see the humor in the fact that I’ve posted about being healthy several times lately and now I’m about to unload some calorie-filled goodness on you in the form of brownies.
To be fair, I only made these to take to church last weekend. And of course they were all eaten so I had none to bring home. Which is a good thing since I’m lacking the ever important thing we like to call self-control when it comes to sweets.
On to the recipe. It’s quick and easy and requires few ingredients. Actually all you need is a family size box of brownie mix (and the ingredients it calls for eggs, oil and water) and 3 large Symphony candy bars. The kind with toffee and almond in the blue package.
Prepare your batter according to the directions on the box and pour half of the mixture into a 9X13″ pan (make sure and spray with cooking spray). Layer the candy bars on top of the mixture making a new layer. Then pour the remaining mixture on top. Bake according to the directions on the brownie package. It may need a few extra minutes but be careful not to overcook. I always watch the edges for when they look done so I don’t overcook.
Let them cool before you cut and serve. You’ll be the hit of any party with these babies. I’m not even kidding. I’ve taken them to so many people/places and I never bring a single one home with me.
And just in case you aren’t familiar with them, the candy bar package will look like this:
Happy Saturday, friends!!!

These are so good! I got the recipe for them last year from Sarah over at Life Sweet Life. My husband has been an addict ever since! ๐

Oh my heck… these look/sounds amazing!! I need to try these asap, ha ha! Good thing our Hawaii vacation is 2 weeks away and I really don’t care what I look like in a swim suit ๐
The ONLY time I bake is when I have a church event to take the goodies too. Because I will seriously sit there and eat it all. By myself. Poor husband ๐

I love these! Our cafeteria lady used to make them and sell them for fundraiser. I of course had to buy one to help support my school!
