I love this time, sweet summertime. It’s everything all wrapped into one. And by everything I mean, everything. It’s childhood memories, sticky hands holding onto ice-cream cones, it’s the slide at the park, a cool dip in the pool, a boat ride on the lake. It’s the smell of barbeque on the grill, from our grill, our neighbor’s grill, it doesn’t really matter. It’s when time seems to slow and it’s okay to sleep-in. It means longer days and fresh cut grass and the promise of football.
This year summer is even sweeter for our family as we settle into our new house. Everything seems so right these days. Last year we were trying to sell our house, the year before that BK was a tiny baby, this summer is ours to enjoy. It’s a great place that we’re in right now and I can’t help but feel incredibly blessed.
My devotion this morning talked about making the most of everyday, not wishing those days away. I think that has been the theme of our summer so far. If anything my prayer has been that the days go by a little slower. Of course, that’s not always the case and when I start back to school in August the days will be fast paced and I’ll be longing for this slow, summertime.
But right now, I’m living it and I refuse to think of anything but warm summer days.

Sounds like a wonderful summer to me! I hope next year will be that kind of summer for us. HOwever, this one’s not too bad…apartment- no yard work- not much house work- pool-tennis- dog park…not too shabby! ๐ Soak it in momma! She’s a doll! Love that last picture of her!
