Can you believe it?
My hope for her this year is that she’ll get to polish up her social skills with other children her age. She’ll get to spend two days each week socializing and interacting with children her age. They’ll practice colors and shapes, play on the playground and learn Bible verses and songs. You may not know this but she’s never been in any sort of MDO or daycare. Her interaction with other children her age is limited to play dates and the nursery at church. I do teach during the day but we are so fortunate that BK gets to spend the day at home with one of her favorite people, her Nanny Helen.
But she’s really good around other children. Sure, she throws out the “mine” word when someone is playing with a toy she wants but she’s easily redirected. And I can count on one hand the number of fits she has pitched. (I’m not boasting, I’m sure our time will come)
She’s even-tempered and mostly drama free. I wish I could take credit for this sweet temperament but everyone knows it comes from her daddy.
I hope that sweet spirit shines as she gets older. I hope that she grows to care and love others. I hope that her sweet heart shines.
Surprisingly enough, I’m not crying this morning. I’m not worried that she’s wants to be home instead. Not worried that she won’t adjust perfectly.
We’ve been to school twice already and she only cried because we had to leave.
I think this is going to be a great program for her and I’m excited to see her grow and mature throughout the year.
I’ll be back with a first day recap tomorrow.
